I knew Cooktown well when a boy; it has always held a place in my heart, and though I have wandered far I shall return again and again. I therefore feel qualified to present this pictorial history. This collection of photographs and drawings, many of them rare, depict an integral part of our heritage that is Cooktown and its district which is all Cape York Peninsula. It is a visual record of Cooktown’s 200 colourful years.
